"Olfaction, the act or process of smelling, is a dog’s primary special sense. A dog’s sense of smell is said to be a thousand times more sensitive than that of humans. In fact, a dog has more than 220 million olfactory receptors in its nose, while humans have only 5 million. Because of this keen sense of smell, dogs are able to locate everything from forensic cadaver material to disaster survivors as demonstrated during the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001". Dogs have an amazing ability to sniff out scent.
It is a very natural thing for a dog to do, but the real fun begins when we can pair the dog, scent, and you.
Learn how to teach your dog to find a specific scent, and then teach them how they can share the information of finding the scent with you, their handler (owner).
Learn how to play fun and engaging games that build trust and fosters a relationship with your dog.
In our basic accelerated course we help to teach your dog to find a scent they are excited to look for, while we build a solid marker that tells you that they found what your wanted them to find.
After they get the hang of the foundation games, we build on their ability to find more specific scent items, eventually you can teach your dog to reliably find items such as; your keys, your kids, and more!
